Just what is the Second Sunday Soup Supper?

In the Minneapolis Star Tribune there was an article in the Spring of 2004 talking about a woman who had created an event. She called it the Second Sunday Soup Supper. For decades she had been the catalyst for keeping this special monthly get-together going. One of our members decided that it was a good idea, and brought it to the Evangelism Committee at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and then to the Board of Deacons. With a green light, the first evening was planned and took place on November 14, 2004. It was a windy but sunshine filled day with temps in the 40's. Counting the cook, 16 church members sat down to a great evening of food and fellowship! To a person they all deemed the evening TOP NOTCH and are looking forward to the next Second Sunday Soup Supper, on December 12th, of 2004. You're invited!

After some discussion at the Jan. gathering, it was decided to donate the cash in the kitty to the Asian Relief going on. We can double the donation by giving through Thrivent Financial who will provide matching funds! And on it went through May of 2005 Then we stopped till September of 2005
Our Second Year! Sept 2005-May 2006 September 11 October 9 November 13 December 11 January 8 February 12 March 12 April 9 May 14 Regularly held from September through May. Always good soup, always good conversation, and usually at least one person that was there for the first time! All monies this year went to the Stained Glass fund.
